Decoupage furniture wallpaper
Do you have dusty pieces of old wallpaper left over from the last year’s repair? Do not rush to take them to the trash as unnecessary trash! They will help to breathe life into old furnishings, turning them into designer things.
A coffee table will look spectacular if you put on it a piece of elegant wallpaper under glass. No need to mess with glue. If the pattern is tired, you can change it at any time.
Decorating a lampshade with wallpaper is an excellent idea: a thing becomes bright and sophisticated. In addition, the included lamp illuminates the pattern, casting bizarre shadows around the room. Isn't it beautiful?
An unusual headboard can be made by simply gluing a piece of wallpaper of a contrasting color over the bed. This solution is especially suitable for backless beds.
Wallpaper in black and white, striped or checked - a stylish option for decoupage.
Wall murals glued to the cabinet doors allow you to create unique furniture in exotic styles.
IMPORTANT: in order to further facilitate cleaning, choose easily washable wallpapers, such as vinyl.
Wallpaper decoupage cabinet
A boring table or frayed wardrobe pasted with scraps of wallpaper will turn into a work of design art, revitalizing the atmosphere. This type of decoupage is very easy to use and accessible to everyone. Use great ideas like:
- Pasting with pieces of wallpaper with the same ornament.A boring white wardrobe will become much more expressive! Make sure that the pattern matches, and the color is in harmony with the color of the walls and the overall appearance of the room.
- Patchwork technique. Pasting furniture with pieces of wallpaper with a different pattern looks creative, as when sewing a patchwork quilt. The main thing is that the “rags” combine with each other and create a harmonious composition.
- Wallpapering from the inside. A laborious but effective idea for open shelves. Allows you to create a bright composition by making the rear wall of the rack and the shelves themselves an element of design.
IMPORTANT: before proceeding with gluing, use sandpaper and acrylic paint to clean the work surface from stains, cracks and scratches.
Other decoupage
Exquisite compositions for decorating furniture are created by other means.
Napkins for decoupage. They are not difficult to find in specialized stores for needlework. Diverse in style, they allow you to decorate furniture in accordance with the general style of the room.
The cloth. Decorating with fabric is an effective way to breathe life into old furniture. It is convenient to use old curtains for this. The cabinet, covered with pieces of fabric, looks elegant and unusual. Reclosing the old chair, you get a stylish piece of decor.
Lacquer. A simple and sophisticated way - after gluing napkins for decoupage, cover them with varnish. The idea of using a special varnish for craquelure is spectacular: such a varnish creates beautiful cracks on the surface.
Toning paint. Furniture tinted with colored paints looks bright and elegant. An extravagant option is to color the table through the tulle, getting an elegant pattern. Skillful tinting can artificially “age” furniture, giving its appearance a nobility. The effect of antiquity creates a decoration with gold or silver paint. Luxurious gold or silver will make even the most ordinary-looking furniture stylish.
Headboard
The headboard is the main decorative element of the bed.It is easy to make it a bright accent in the design of the bedroom, if you show your imagination:
- soft headboard: a piece of polyurethane foam is glued onto a solid base and covered with velvet, velor or other material. Use buttons to decorate;
- natural wood. A huge selection of ideas: noble wooden panels, exquisite wooden lattice, pretty shelves and much more. The headboard from natural branches looks spectacular;
- a rock. The natural stone insert will ennoble the headboard. Fans of spectacular designs can make the headboard of a panel of sea pebbles;

Roman curtains
Roman curtains - a convenient and stylish solution for the interior of any of the rooms in your home. They are a piece of canvas in the size of the window with sewn-in trims. Thanks to the latter, Roman curtains can be assembled like blinds, forming beautiful folds.
Simplicity and grace make Roman curtains a magnificent decorative element. They can decorate the living room or bedroom, hang in the nursery. This is a practical option for the kitchen. A wide selection of colors allows everyone to find an option to their liking.
Roman curtains are easy to make yourself. To do this, you need a piece of your chosen fabric and old blinds:
- measure the width and length of the window, add 1 cm on each side for seams and cut a piece of cloth. Iron and stitch at the seams;
- remove the extra strips from the blinds, glue the rest to the curtain from the inside;
- hang the curtain.
Instead of blinds, you can use wooden bars. In this case, the strips are glued or sewn, optionally. Do not forget to sew the rings to pass the cord.
Wall decor from a photo
Gorgeous photos from your personal archive or from the Internet will become an exclusive detail of the interior. You just have to try a little bit!
Photo frames are not the only way to hang photos on the wall. Consider ideas such as:
- Photo on the background. Find a thick, hard, and light base (ideal is Styrofoam or Styrofoam). Print the photo so that it is 5 cm larger than the substrate: a gap is necessary for folds. Gently glue the photo to the backing by bending the ends. Glue the photo to make the image shiny. If you cut the photo into several parts, you get an effective modular picture.
- Photo on canvas. You will need a canvas stretched over the frame and a printed image in size. Put on a canvas a thick layer of glue medium, firmly press the image to it and leave for several hours, not forgetting to soak from the spray gun. Then carefully peel off the paper and apply another layer of medium gel on the canvas for protection. The result was a gorgeous image with spectacular scuffs!
